the next day the kids and i did a bit of thrifting--i miss taking them with me when school is in session! we came away with some good loot (daughter found a 1953 issue of vogue!) but didn't take any pictures save for a couple of my daughter wearing her new vintage cardi that was also part of the velvet leaf bizarre trade. i thrifted her "happybaby" tank top a while back and great-grandma gave her a new harajuku lovers purse for xmas.
my daughter wore a vintage vest and skirt set that heather of moonshine junkyard gifted her and one of my vintage grateful dead tees (those super high converse she's been living in were an xmas gift from grandma)

ooooh, what a perfect getaway for the new year. looks like you are setting the tone right! i love k's converse boots with that outfit...amazing...she totally knows how to give it the right twist, just like her ma! if i saw you guys wandering about i'd be desperate to find out more about the rad rock-n-roll family....very inspiring to family-makers in the making!!! happiest new year to all of you!
Ohh cute doggie smile! Your daughter has such wonderful style....wish I could have been more like that at her age. Lucky you got one of Tara's knits. Happy New Year crimson sister
Sh*t you guys look cool. And man, that is one nice grandma your kids have. Sutro Baths looks phenomenal. I also saw Mary's post on it, and the history is pretty amazing huh. i can just imagine taking my kids there...and them running straight of the edge while I'm screaming at them to stop - which they won't because obviously Steve and I have been far too liberal with them as babies...enough about me; our babes have been very very trying these last few days. Were yours ever the kind of kids that just never listened? (pls say yes) Maggie is gorgeous, i feel like pattting her ears. Happy 2012 for you and yours!
Aw, Maggie, what a sweet face! Weird, I was just telling some friends about Sutro Baths today. I've been meaning to go myself, never have. What a perfect day you guys chose!
Happy New Year Nicole, I hope 2012 brings much joy to your amazing family!
I'm with Heather, I'd be like "Who are these rad people!? How does she get her kids to dress like that?" It's amazing how much girls Kama's age love those high Converse. I love it that she got that red sweater too. I tried it on and almost got it, but it's much better on her!
Well I had sure never heard of Sutro Baths. Interesting name.
I look forward to seeing what you all create in 2012 :-)
wow! lots of awesome outfits happening in this post! i also love the ring your daughter made you...like mother like daughter.
happy new year to you! wishing you and your fam the best for 2012!
before i read what you wrote i was like "heeyyyy, wait a minute, isn't that...?". i'm so glad you went! did you check out the cave? i wish i'd known to tell you that there are also labyrinths on the cliffs above the baths.
i am in love with your style in that second picture and completely blown away at how stylie your daughter is. funny, i have a vest just like the one she's wearing over the purple dead shirt...but the fabric is reversed on mine...and i thought it was handmade...neat! also, love the ring your daughter made you.
happy new year to you and your beautiful fam!!
Your kiddos are my style icons for this year! True story. Your family is too cool for school, man! I love these shots and the whole little adventure. So much blog influence sneaking into real life. Clothes from Heather, travel tips from Mary. I've missed this beautious world so much lately. Happy New Year to you and yours. May it be one when we meet again in person.
Oh and I'm with Amber on let's talk Womyn's Herbal Symposium, stat. It'd be amazing! Ah-ma-zzziiing...
Hi lady, i just wanted to stop by here and say thanks for the comments on my blog. That first one about your kids, had me laughing and running to steve to say "we're not alone!". Another thing we learnt very recently is that despite us wanting to see a whole plethora of museums when we come over - it just isn't going to be possible with our kids in tow. Boo. Man they get bored easily. At least my ma will be with us so we'll get a little time to explore some of the grownup places. Also, i really appreciate what you shared about your experiences with anxiety man. i think you might be onto something there about doing something autonomous besides just being a parent. i've got the urge anyway. alright. gotta go now.
I think this is among the most vital information for me. And i'm glad reading your article. But wanna remark on some general things, The website style is wonderful, the articles is really excellent : D. Good job, cheers
